Raman Saini, Psy.D.

Clinical Psychologist

At the heart of her approach, Dr. Saini trusts that a healthy state of mind is intimately tied to maintaining a genuine connection with yourself, which begins by developing a greater sense of self-awareness. At its core, this connection within is the trust that one way or another, you will be able to handle whatever you may encounter in life, whether it be a crisis or simply, the challenges of daily life. The practice of focusing on yourself empowers you to trust your instincts and builds your inner strength and resilience. Nurturing this connection enhances the quality of your life as it invites and creates the space for more positive and fulfilling interactions with others and the world around you.

Therapy has the power to gently challenge and shift your mindset to help you understand that everything you need lies within you. As a Clinical Psychologist, Dr. Saini helps individuals achieve a greater understanding of themselves and improve their emotional well-being and quality of life. She utilizes various therapeutic approaches, including psychodynamic psychotherapy, play therapy, mindfulness, and cognitive and behavioral therapies, to treat a wide range of mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders and help individuals develop essential life skills. She works with children, adolescents, and adults and is especially passionate about working with trauma, including complex/developmental trauma.

Dr. Saini graduated with her doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Midwestern University (Downers Grove, IL campus) and her experiences have included working in residential, school, hospital, and outpatient settings. She is currently the President of Midwestern University’s Alumni Diversity Council and actively engaged in efforts to implement diversity initiatives in various healthcare fields to help reduce disparities in healthcare. In her free time, Dr. Saini enjoys choreographing and performing traditional and contemporary East Indian dancing.

Colette De Bruyn, Psy.D.

Clinical Psychology Resident

Dr. De Bruyn believes strongly in the power of emotional processing and learning through a strong therapeutic relationship. She focuses on helping the patient better understand themselves and the world around them in order to heal. Once we are able to understand and uncover how our early relationships and experiences impact us, we are able to rewrite our own narrative and utilize skills to process our emotions in a healthy way. She believes the importance of values and utilizing your strengths to create meaning in your life.

In therapy, Dr. De Bruyn utilizes multiple techniques and approaches. With children, she mainly utilizes play therapy, often including sand-tray, art therapy and experiential techniques. Children communicate through play and, through play therapy, we gain a window of insight into their minds as they attempt to make sense of the world around them and the situations they encounter. Dr. De Bruyn also utilizes parent training, coping skills training (zones of regulation), and psychoeducation. With all populations, Dr. De Bruyn incorporates numerous modalities such as psychodynamic psychotherapy, patient-centered therapy, and cognitive and behavioral therapies. She teaches patients the skills they need to overcome obstacles and improve their quality of life.

Dr. De Bruyn graduated from Midwestern University (Glendale Campus) with her doctorate in Clinical Psychology. She has experience working in schools, outpatient facilities, and neuropsychological settings. In her free time, she enjoys baking, crafting, and dancing.
